Adopt BeniBadak Kecil Island · Salat Island Group
Rescued as a malnourished toddler, Jelapat has climbed every rung of rehabilitation. Now living on the semi-wild Badak Kecil island with zero direct human contact, he is honing his survival independence. Your adoption funds island monitoring patrols and supplemental food during his final trials.
Jelapat demonstrating advanced canopy traversal on Badak Kecil island.
Caregivers quickly noticed that Jelapat approached every challenge with calm calculation. Rather than rushing blindly, he pauses, assesses the flexibility of a branch, and chooses the most efficient path through the canopy.
On the pre-release island, Jelapat has successfully learned to construct secure night nests high above the swamp floor, forage for wild termites, and defend his territory. He is on track to become one of our next wild release heroes.

Because rehabilitation takes between 7 and 9 years, ongoing monthly adoption provides the steady, reliable funding needed to see orphaned orangutans all the way through Forest School to wild release. However, you maintain complete control and can pause, modify, or cancel your monthly adoption at any time.
